Today we bring to you an author who chooses to remain anonymous. The author tackles our first educational piece: What is ESG? Good Day! I’m writing to let everyone know how dangerous it is that our company jumped into the foray of ESG (Environmental Social and Governance). I love this company. It makes me sad to see American Airlines future go up, while we go down. But up or down, I love the people with whom I work and am blessed enough to fly. Because I have so much passion for this company, and the freedoms which our Constitutional Republic guarantee, I need to warn as many people as possible of ESG and it’s little brother, DEI (Diversity Equity & Inclusion). BOTH are subsets of Marxism. Here is a short video where James A Lindsay, PhD, addresses the European Union Parliament on why ESG is Marxism:

Unfortunately the company’s message about DEI rings hollow because there are still some questions many of us have about the DEI push…like how it’s the EXACT OPPOSITE of the Golden Rule and Herb’s 1999 “Message to the Field” when he warned against Tribalism.

Now times are different. Our leadership is more insulated. I think Herb only had 23 vice presidents when he stepped down as CEO in 2008, now I believe we have more than double: 63. I’ve lost count! Ha! Maybe it’s because of this insulation from the operations, the C-suite, our Southwest Board of Directors, and Southwest “Leadership” actually PROMOTE TRIBALISM! I put “Leadership” in quotes because they are really stewards of what Herb left us. Stewards that no longer lead, but are trying to hold on to what we once LUV’d about this company, and they don’t know why it’s slipping away. No longer are we ONE Team with ONE Heart, because we started to go woke over ten years ago. Thus, this is unintentionally coordinated by our leadership…not even on purpose…but they just don’t know about the dangers of ESG & DEI. I’m afraid it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing & they do not recognize it as such. And instead of pushing MERITOCRACY, the promotion of those who do their best, the company pushes the ONE Report showcasing our Wokeness since 2012:

The same webpage contains it's NEW corollary, the DEI Report which bows down to globalists and their ESG vision by creating a DEI organization that this company based on the illegal mandates of President Biden’s Executive through Order EO 13985 and EO 14034.

Why is this?

Corporations are being overrun by ideologies pushed by big investment firms, most notably, Black Rock, State Street & Vanguard who have developed scoring systems from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a seemingly benign sounding name for a nonprofit, until you realize they are a George Soros funded organization pushing anti-American agendas. ESG, or CEI (Corporate Equality Index) scores from these major movers and shakers force many companies to succumb to, not just fiduciary responsibility, but these additional Marxist matrices. So why did Nike, Kate Spade, Budweiser, and 840 companies, even our beloved Southwest, bend their knees to this racket?

A “Perfect Score” from HRC = A mob style “Protection Racket”

A perfect ESG or CEI score means Black Rock, Vanguard, and State Street will “allow” fund managers, connected to your local financial planner, to access the stocks of the 840 companies who complied. No compliance means no access to pension funds, mutual funds, or other avenues of investment over which these three companies have control. If no one can purchase the company’s stocks, then CEO’s and their board of directors, will not be paid their lucrative stock performance bonuses. Or, worse yet, if they don’t comply, then they could be held legally liable, opening themselves to not acting in the best interests of their share holders. Please insert a small sad tune crying for the Board Members jobs and their bonuses here.

My wife’s great grandfather was a great Italian cook as an immigrant in Brooklyn. Everyone raved about his restaurant, his food, & the service. My mother in law and grandmother in law would tell us stories how the mob came several times, over several months, to him, offering “protection.” Each time he and his family who had left Naples Italy and immigrated through Ellis Island for a life free from the Italian mafio said “No.” One day, when he and his business partner came to open the restaurant, they found it had mysteriously burned down. This is the way illegal, organized crime syndicates operate. They make a problem, they offer an unpalatable solution to the problem they created, and threaten you if you don’t take it (any mandates come to mind?). If you accept, you’re under their control. If you don’t….they attempt to cap you at the knees. What happened to my bride’s great grandfather? Did his American dream fail? Nope. He opened a famous night club and piano bar that became so renown that Charley Chaplain used to come and have a drink.

So back to Southwest:

Acquiescing to the mob, our profit sharing has been spent on SAV FUEL investigations at left leaning universities. Our relationships with our CoHearts are being undermined by pronoun pins and the promotion of us vs them. Because of the the perceived need to comply with Biden EO’s, due to the small amount of federal contracting work we do (12%ish if I’m right?) which we do not need to do as an independent company with cash in the bank, the push for DEI began in 2021 under these two EOs, but the foundation was built a decade before as we bowed to the woke push.

Our company is selling its soul to the government and global vulture capitalists, in bed with the government for government contracts. And while they throw money to cling to these scraps of novel societal wonderings pushed for “global citizenship”…just like so many acquiesced to pay the mob…that nuzzling to the global crime bosses to become the “darling of Wall Street” detracted from needed investments. Our “Leadership” aka our current and former CEO and the Southwest Board of directors got their stock bonuses, but they neglected to invest in our IT infrastructure (something SWAPA has warned about since 2014) and stranded 12 million customers over Christmas and lost almost $1 Billion between 4th quarter 2022 ($800 million) and 1st quarter of 2023 ($158 million). All that “investment” to be a Wall Street darling and government lap dog, as our stock sinks to the lowest level in years, and we hit rock bottom becoming 11 of 11 airlines…below regional airlines and ULCC’s Spirit & Frontier. SPIRIT AND FRONTIER!!!

Pilots, Flight Attendants, Rampers, Provisioning, CSA’s, Ops Agents, Maintainers…all front line workers whose blood, sweat and tears go to make this airline Herb’s Dream, has your beloved company become a nightmare? Dallas headquarter workers, has your investment into front line employees helped get this company back on top? If you’re sick of watching your hard work go down the drain, and are sick of watching corporate burn money and loose customers, let’s teach our leaders to say one powerful word: “NO!” Only the ones with eyes to see can understand that the woke will go to broke.

Do you want someone to say, “You’re only here because you fill ____ requirement of a DEI hiring initiative?” Of course not! We’d all rather say, “No wonder why you’re here at Southwest! What a hard worker! What a WARRIOR SPIRIT! What a SERVANT’S HEART! What a FUN LUVING ATTITUDE! We only hire the best! Great job!”

Are you ready then? Let’s be leaders we were hired to be! Let us Lead our “Leaders” in saying that one, small powerful word! Are you ready to be like my wife’s great grandfather to not hold on to what we have built, but bravely stand on our values and principles and look to other opportunities in the future? Then let’s all join together, stand up and say “NO!” To ESG and DEI. You may feel like one person, but YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
